Sean Evans is a well-known American YouTuber, producer, and interviewer, who is recognized for creating and hosting the popular series, Hot Ones. The show features Evans conducting interviews with celebrities as they eat increasingly spicy chicken wings.
He was born on April 26, 1986, in Evanston, a suburb of Chicago. Evans graduated from Crystal Lake Central High School in 2004, where he played football and baseball. In 2008, he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where one of his professors suggested he pursue a career as a weatherman.
Evans grew up admiring Howard Stern, Jimmy Kimmel, David Letterman, and Adam Carolla for their interviewing skills. He fondly remembers his father recording Letterman's shows during the week and binge-watching them with him on Saturdays.
Before becoming an interviewer, Evans worked as a copywriter for the Chicago tourism board. He began freelancing for Complex Magazine in New Orleans, where he conducted on-screen interviews with celebrities such as 2 Chainz and Steph Curry. Complex was impressed with his work and offered him a full-time job, prompting him to quit his copywriting job and move to New York a month later.
