Hot Ones: The Game Show is a spin-off game show that premiered on truTV on February 18, 2020, with Sean Evans as the host. The game show features two pairs of players competing for a chance to win up to $25,000. The game consists of three rounds, and the wings used in each round are cooked in increasingly hot sauces. Players are not provided with any water or milk to reduce the effects of the wings, but they are given buckets in case they need to vomit.
In the first two rounds, each team begins by eating one wing, and the host asks three toss-up questions that are open to all. The first team to buzz in has five seconds to answer. A correct answer earns the team money, while a wrong answer gives the money to the opposing team. Questions in the first round are worth $100/$200/$300, while the second round's values double to $200/$400/$600.
In the third round, each team begins by eating one bite of a wing. The host provides a series of clues, and players can buzz in at any time to guess the subject being described. Three puzzles are played, with each worth $1,000/$2,000/$3,000. The team that scores on each puzzle must then take another bite. If a team misses, their opponents must provide the correct answer to score. Both teams keep their accumulated winnings.
The team with the higher score advances to the "Ring of Fire" bonus round, where each team member must drink a shot of mixed hot sauce that includes a sauce with a Scoville rating of 2 million. One team member is then shown a series of words and must get their partner to guess each word by describing it. The clue-giver can pass on a word at any time. If the team can solve five words in 60 seconds, their winnings are increased to $25,000, and they are given large milkshakes to relieve the effects of the sauce and wings they have eaten.
